Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Materials Manager plans, coordinates and controls all activities related to the procurement, receipt, scheduling, storage and inventory control of all direct and indirect materials, parts and services necessary to the Phoenix location, in meeting its’ sales and manufacturing commitments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops materials management programs for the Phoenix location requirements based   on and in accordance with the inventory control system.
• Manages the preparation and implementation of short and long-range inventory plans for   raw materials, to minimize materials costs and meet production scheduling.
• Manages the purchasing activity, including all materials, supplies and services, both   direct and indirect for the Phoenix plant and specified materials for the San Francisco   location.
• Monitors all phases of inventory, procedures, and controls and maintains a constant   awareness of status, providing for alternative plans as needed to compensate for   shortages, rejections, new priorities and related problems.
• Plans and coordinates the physical inventory, being responsible for counts, accuracy,   costing and reporting for raw materials, work in process and finished goods.
• Analyzes and evaluates inventory and production capacities and plans purchases in   relation to current short-range and long-range commitments and advises management of   potential delivery or shortage problems.
• Establishes and recommends approval of budgets for materials at the Phoenix plant.
• Implements the necessary controls to keep expenditures within budget limits.
• Prepares specified reports as to progress, order status, department budget forecasts,   and related information relative to inventory control, purchasing and data processing.
• Audits programs to ensure that expectations are being achieved or should be revised.
• Maintains an awareness of company policies and procedures and ensures compliance   by all subordinates.
• Completes administrative duties for the department, including evaluation of personnel,   salary adjustments and terminations as needed.
• Could perform other assigned duties.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS:
Requires a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, as well as goals and objectives for all phases of materials management. Requires the ability to plan and coordinate the procurement, scheduling, storage and inventory control of all parts and materials. Must be skilled in the development and implementation of computer programs for accounting, inventory control, materials and related areas. Must be skilled in supervisory techniques, and be able to apply good employee relations procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reporting to Value Stream Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for cost reduction, process improvement, and capital project management. This position will work with Production, Design Engineering, Maintenance/Tooling, and Purchasing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, Identify and implement process improvement and material savings projects.
• Provide leadership and training for Lean implementation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date plant layouts.
• Implement flow manufacturing processes throughout the plant. Initiate Kanbans for high   frequency parts.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The Supervisor manages the production activities within their department and is responsible for Overall Performance of the Manufacturing Cell including Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Training.

This includes:
Production schedule, delivery performance, resource planning and allocation work flow, resource utilization quality improvement safety improvement productivity improvement and scrap reduction of their production cell as well as leading, supervising and coaching lead-hands and members of the production teams within their cell.
