Production Supervisor - Suwanee, Georgia

Service Overview:
The Supervisor manages the production activities within their department and is responsible for Overall Performance of the Manufacturing Cell including Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Training.

This includes:
• Production schedule
• Delivery performance
• Resource planning and allocation work flow
• Resource utilization
• Quality improvement
• Safety improvement
• Productivity improvement and scrap reduction of their production cell as well as leading,   supervising and coaching lead-hands and members of the production teams within their   cell

Responsibilities:
• Owner of the department
• Improvement of the department - targeting 50% of supervisor time on improvement
• Efficiency and utilization (i.e. productivity) of the department
• Quality of the products built and effective resolution of quality issues
• Resolve quality issues using the problem solving methods to identify problem root cause   and implement corrective and preventative measures to ensure the problem does not   reoccur
• Utilize, as necessary, functional support departments to resolve quality issues
• Safety including identification and resolution of safety issues
• Ensuring instructions, procedures, and policies are followed
• Process and product flow through the cells and the improvement of the process
• Motivating cell members through involvement, communication and positive reinforcement
• Provide employees with feedback through formal and informal performance evaluations
• Monitoring attendance and take disciplinary steps as required up to the termination
• Dealing with conflict and interpersonal issues in a calm, controlled and professional   manner
• Manpower planning and effective staffing, including selecting operators, lead-hands and   master crafters
• Ensuring effective training and cross training
• Mentoring lead hands and developing the lead hands so that they can manage the hour   by hour manufacturing operation
• Driving continuous improvement within the cells to achieve on-going improvements in   quality, productivity and delivery performance
• Be the main driving force behind 5S and process improvement within the cells
• Use "Lean" manufacturing and other techniques to improve cell performance
• Educate cell members in application of lean thinking and lean tools
• Representing the department, as necessary, at meetings, briefings, etc.
• Ensuring the department organization and cleanliness is maintained to world-class   levels
• Ensure daily shop clean-up actions are performed effectively and required daily machine   preventative maintenance actions are carried out as required

Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years of supervision with a proven track record in a high volume, multi-  product environment
• Exceptional leadership skills accompanied by a sense of urgency
• Comfortable in a team - oriented environment where success of the company is of   paramount importance
• Ability to achieve desired results by motivating Associates to want to meet goals
• Trained and experienced in lean manufacturing
• Strong initiative and able to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Thrive in a work environment where teamwork, accountability and innovative thinking are   highly valued

Preferred:
• Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese highly preferred
• Knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly is   highly preferred
• Experience in a process engineering role is preferred
