Price offers a large variety of single duct models to suit the many applications which may be encountered. Following is a brief overview of the models
available and their typical applications. One of the differentiators between the various models is acoustic performance. Table 1 illustrates the maximum air flow in cfm which can be supplied from each
model to meet a specific NC level. Maximum air flow is provided for discharge sound which is typically the predominant factor influencing NC level for single duct terminals. The estimated tabled NC levels are
based on standard attenuation factors as described in AHRI Standard 885- 2008, Appendix E.
SDV Series – This is the most popular Price model suitable for delivery of supply air in most commercial projects. A variety of options and accessories expand the application to health care,
Lab and cleanroom facilities. Due to their low operating pressure SDV series are compatible with low pressure systems ( less than 1" fan static pressure ) but are equally suited to medium or high pressure
systems up to 6" fan static. From Table 1 it can be seen that air volumes of up to 2500 cfm can be delivered while maintaining an NC 35. For acoustically critical spaces of NC 25 or less the air
volume is limited to 200 cfm. When the optional 3 foot attenuator is selected a maximum air volume of up to 4000 cfm can be delivered while maintaining an NC 35 and for acoustically critical spaces
of NC 25 or less the air volume is extended to 700 cfm.
SDVQ Series – The SDVQ features a discharge silencer specifically tuned and tested as an integral component of the assembly. Designed for acoustically critical spaces the SDVQ can deliver a maximum air
volume of up to 1800 cfm while maintaining an NC 25 and up to 600 cfm for an NC 20. When the SDVQ is selected for a non critical space the maximum air volume is extended to 5000 cfm at an NC 35. Another common
application of the SDVQ is on projects where exposed fiberglass insulation is not permitted, which seriously limits acoustic attenuation. The SDVQ can be provided with several non fiberglass liners in the
terminal casing as well as a polymer film liner on the discharge silencer. These construction options meet the project indoor air quality specifications while still providing effective and industry leading
SDVLP Series – The SDVLP is a low profile model with a maximum height of 10 inches. This model is intended for restricted ceiling spaces such as may be encountered with retrofit projects. The SDVLP is
available with similar accessories and liner options as the SDV, extending it’s application to commercial, healthcare and lab projects.
SDE Series – This model is intended for exhaust systems where measurement and control of exhaust or return air is desired. Typical applications are healthcare or lab facilities. The SDE is supplied
standard with an inlet attenuator for quiet operation and foil face insulation for optimum indoor air quality.
SDEQ Series – The SDEQ is an exhaust terminal with an inlet silencer specifically tuned and tested as an integral component of the assembly. The SDEQ is intended for exhaust or return systems serving
acoustically critical spaces or where exposed fiberglass insulation is not permitted, which seriously limits acoustic attenuation. The SDEQ can be provided with several non fiberglass liners in the terminal
casing as well as a polymer film liner on the discharge silencer. These construction options meet the project indoor air quality specifications while still providing effective and industry leading acoustic
SH/SHV Series – These models include a mechanical regulator capable of operating in systems with up to 6 inches inlet static pressure. The SH provides constant volume with no external power supply.
The SHV provides variable volume with the addition of a pneumatic or electric actuator. An insulated attenuator section allows a maximum air volume of up to 1800 cfm while maintaining an NC 25 and up to 1200
cfm for an NC 20. The excellent acoustic performance and high pressure capability makes the SH/SHV an ideal choice for retrofit or renovation of existing high pressure systems.
LGB Series – The LGB is a pressure dependent bypass terminal designed to provide economical VAV control of packaged rooftop or low pressure central station systems. Typical applications include
small commercial office buildings or retail spaces.
